The Hidden Truth About Women’s Power… And Why It’s Time to Reclaim It

For Thousands of years, the story of womanhood has been written and distorted by men. They defined what it meant to be feminine. They decided what made a woman “sexy,” “acceptable,” or “pure.” They projected their desires onto us, then wrapped those projections in religion, education, and culture until we began to believe them as our own.

But make no mistake: this version of womanhood was never ours.

This distortion began long ago, in the story of Genesis and during the rise of the Bronze and Iron Ages. The reverence for the Great Mother—the ancient feminine force of creation, intuition, and life—was slowly replaced by a masculine god of war, control, and conquest.

The true story of Lilith as the First Woman was replaced by a more subservient Eve, and with that shift came the quiet erasure of the feminines rightful power—her sexual power.

From ancient scriptures to school books, from pulpits to pop culture, we've been conditioned to believe that owning our sexual power makes us dangerous, unworthy, or unlovable. We’ve been taught to fear the very thing that makes us divine.

Women who dared to embody their sensual, sovereign selves were labeled immoral, wild, inappropriate—even punished. And for many of us, even now, those inherited beliefs still live quietly inside. They show up in the mirror, in the bedroom, in our choices about our bodies, desires, and voices.

Herstory Was Rewritten

The sacred feminine was stripped from the collective memory. And in her place, a story was born that made women forget who they truly are. Why? Because a woman in her full power—sensual, sexually sovereign, embodied—is unstoppable, and that kind of woman cannot be controlled.

When you separate a woman from her sexual energy, her innate, primal, authentic power, you separate her from her life force. When you shame her body, you disempower her voice. When you teach her that her value lies in how men see her and in her sexuality, you break her connection to the divine within.

This was never random. This was never accidental. This was a system of control, and it’s still working today.

You might think things are different now. I’m not affected by those old beliefs. But the truth is: we all are. You may think: That’s not me. I’m empowered. I’m free. But we’ve all been touched by it. It's in the collective air we breathe. And while some laws have changed, we are still living in a rape culture and the system that devalues the feminine still thrives.

Even now, the collective energy around us is infused with ancient conditioning.
Even now, women are taught to use their sexuality as currency—to secure attention, affection, and security.Even now, your voice is often second-guessed. Your power is still threatening. Your body is still politicized and sexualized.

So Here is the Invitation:

- Not to be afraid. But to remember.
- To reclaim and reconnect with the fullness of your sexual power.
- To rise in this new frequency of the feminine.

The time has come for a new frequency of the feminine to emerge within you.

It’s time to activate your authentic feminine power within your heart, mind, and body. Within your sacred portal or vulva, womb.  To release the shame, fear, lack of self-worth — the version that was shaped to please others, seduce, or survive. The time has come for you to know who you truly are. To be the sexually sovereign woman that your ancestress Lilith the First Woman was and still is.

So How Do You Begin? Here Are a Few Suggestions.

 1. Reclaim your body as sacred.
Start with the place they told you was shameful—your vulva, yoni, punani, pussy.
This is your sacred portal, your center of creation, your connection to divine wisdom.
Honor it. Bless it. Speak its name with reverence. Reconnect with Her.

 2. Create rituals of body love.
Draw a bath with candles and essential oils. Gaze at yourself in the mirror and speak praise over your body. Anoint your skin with love. Touch yourself with gentleness and awe. You are not just worthy—you are holy.

 3. Meet one of the true feminine archetypes.
Study Lilith and reconnect with her lineage—not the demonized version, but the sovereign first woman, who refused submission and embodied divine sexual power. Let her story awaken something wild and free in your soul. She is a guide for what’s possible when we stop asking for permission and apologizing for being a woman.

 4. Use your voice.
Ask for what you want. Speak your truth—even if it shakes at first.
Start small. Practice often. Grow bolder. Especially in your intimate relationships, where voice and vulnerability are key.

This is not just a call for empowerment—it’s a sacred remembering. A return to your deepest self. A breaking of the spell that was cast so long ago.

You were never meant to shrink, hide, or apologize for being a woman. You were meant to lead, love, and live fully alive and awake.

The new frequency of the feminine is rising—and it's unstoppable. Together, we have the power to awaken, reclaim what was once hidden, and anchor this sacred energy into a new paradigm for women, and for the world.

You are not just witnessing the shift. You are the shift.

If you choose to use your voice, love your body, and speak your truth you will help reshape the future for you, your daughters, and their daughters. Now is the time.

Will you answer the call?

It has always been of interest to me to understand the Herstory of the women who were called Sacred Prostitutes. Who were these women, where did they come from and what happened to the cultures that they were revered and honored in?

That is why I have decided to write a series of three articles on the Sacred Prostitute and the Holy Whore so that we might discover what happened to cause their story to go untold and their gifts to us forgotten. The time for us a women to reclaim these forgotten aspects of ourselves is now and I invite you to do so if  you choose.

When God Was a Woman

Picture
Imagine a time when God was a woman 15,000 – 5,000 BCE,  and women were considered holy and their bodies sacred. These cultures were connected to the Earth and called her the Great Goddess and were primarily peace loving and depended upon the land to survive.
Most of these cultures during this time period were matrilineal that means that the mother passed on her wealth to the daughter.

Women’s roles often combined motherhood, gathering food, seeds, nuts and berries, herbs for healing and were the ones who sustained the community and provided its’ foundation and center.  They are often thought of as partnership societies because men and women’s roles had equal importance and neither sex overpowered the other.

Women were seen as the mediators between the Goddess and the tribe. A woman could access the power of the Goddess and it was thought that she could identify more easily with Her.

Women were considered a mystery and most like Her because they could give birth to new life and bleed without dying.  They seemed to have magical abilities and their womb, and their bodies were considered sacred. They were considered nearer the Divine and the act of sexual intercourse with a woman was the closest thing a man could do to be with the Divine.

Inanna's Daughters

Picture
The first women sexual healers were called Inanna’s Daughters of Heaven. They were also called nu gig, the pure and spotless and qadishtu, holy women. They were the handmaidens of Inanna and they followed Lilith who was thought of as the original archetype of woman.

"Lilith is considered an original archetype as the “natural woman” who solidified tribal cohesion and unity through sexual bonding and appeasement." – Lilith Keepers of the Flame

They understood the healing power of their sexual energy and the right use of sex. They would gather the male members of the tribal community and conduct sacred rituals that would teach them how to use their sexual energy correctly. They did this by offering a connection to the divine through their bodies and sexual intercourse. Sexuality with a woman evoked within a man the sacred and opened his heart to divine love.

It was thought that a man needed a woman in order to give birth to the potential Goddess/Divine Feminine within himself. This was called apotheosis and because of this all women had a high status within their tribe/community.

These women were also called the Keepers of the Flame for the understood that within the womb of woman the original blueprint of humanity.  They knew that within them lived the sacred flame of the divine self and they kept this knowledge sacred. They were also the fire keepers of their tribes and so kept alive the sacred magic of light and the warmth of the heart and to this day we still use the symbol of the Red Light in the Catholic Church, in airplanes and in the Red Light districts.
